Anyone familiar with flaxseed meal in cooking/baking?


So I was just wondering if anyone has experimented with flaxseed meal in cooking or baking? and how it affected your numbers? I found a recipe for flaxseed muffins and was curious to try them but didn't want any spiking, if you have any experience let me know :)

Does flaxseed have carbs? I didn't think it did, but I haven't used it in a very long time. I think most of its calories come from fat and protein. It's a very fibrous food, so it should actually slow down your digestion and create less of a spike (or at least a delayed spike).
