I get a lot of spam in my inbox, and this morning there was one concerning a Medtronic lawsuit. It struck me as odd since I haven’t used Medtronic in ages, so I checked the sender and sure enough, it as from a personal email address, with a link to God alone knows where.
Below is a screenshot. Be sure to check the sender, even when the message appears to be related to our tech.
I notified Medtronic that someone is using their good name.

@wadawabbit I’ve found similar and often check the “from” addresses before any action. While I’m sure these can be spoofed by experts, most appear to be efforts by neophytes learning the spam trade…i.e. they can fake the initially displayed address, but not when you check the header info of the raw msg. I doubt this problem will be cured anytime soon, if ever….
