CGM guidance

All, I am new to the site, but not to diabetes. A year ago, I switched from the old standard to a Minimed pump and CGM. Now I wonder at the benefit of CGM. It seems as though the data is a) wide ranging, B) at least 30 minutes old. As a result, I've found almost no use for it, except that the CDE can download the info and track trending with it. This is a useful tool for the professionals, I suspect, but not so much for me. In fact, the reporting provided by Carelink Pro is much more valuable than the one they provide for patients, but unavailable, unless someone gives you a bootlegged copy and a password. Are you using CGM beneficially, and if so, would it help in knowing (right now, in real time) whether to eat or bolus? I got CGM for use during running, but I'm now back to stopping to test, and repsonding to the data...
