CGM's and pregnancy

My fiance and I want to start trying at the end of the summer to conceive. Besides being type 1 diabetic, I have one kidney, an abnormal (didelphus) utereus, and fibromyalgia. So I am definitely a 'high-risk' candidate. How can I work with my insurance/doctor to get approval for a CGM? I currently have an A1c of 7.5 and can't seem to get under that. I am on the MiniMed pump right now and love it.

I would tell your endo to write a letter of medical of necessity and also write that you are trying to get pregnant and need a cgm to achieve an a1c of 6.5 or lower. Also contact your minimed rep and tell them you are trying to get pregnant they may be able to tell you what to do to get one faster. When minimed got involved with my CGM request I was approved the next week.
