Curbing the snacks late at night

I'm looking to get better control of my eating habits, and I notice that I tend to snack at night. I'm usually eating dinner around 6 - 7pm, but I'm always feeling hungry later. Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

What are you eating for dinner? You've probably heard this a thousand times, but I try to eat high fiber, high protein, medium fat meals, throughout the day but especially at night. I eat most of my carbs by early-mid afternoon. Granola bars, oatmeal, multigrain bread are all great. Sometimes, if it's really late and I'm really hungry, I have a spoonful of organic/natural/non-hydrogenated peanut butter. Works like a charm ;)

I try to have a higher carb dinner (65-70 carbs) then an hour or so later have a snack that will keep me full throughout the night- like a protein bar or fruit.. hope that helps!
