I got an email from the NYC Chapter this morning thought I would share!
"What could be more meaningful than following in the footsteps of Carol Lurie, a founder of JDRF?
Carol Lurie, along with her husband Erwin, Lee Ducat, and a few select, passionate parents, founded JDRF in 1970. Carol’s name evokes power—it represents an unwavering commitment that has impacted the lives of millions of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Her name also represents the extraordinary legacy of an individual who inspired those around her to improve the life of someone she loved—her son Stephen. For all and for one, she moved men and women, research organizations, and governments to support T1D research.
Carol passed away on February 15, 2013, at the age of 84, but her legacy continues. We will not rest—not until there is a world without T1D. Inspire others to follow in her footsteps and donate to the Carol Lurie Memorial Fund. Every effort you make will support what Carol started more than 40 years ago. Let’s take her inspiration into our hearts and work together toward JDRF’s goals to bring
life-changing therapies and ultimately a cure to all those living with T1D.
Please encourage everyone in your chapter to pay tribute by donating to the
Carol Lurie Memorial Fund."
