Hi! New and in need of Friends :O

Hi All, I'm new to this site someone reccommended it to me from DiabetesForums, looks like just what I was looking for!!

I was diagnosed just this past January... I'm still struggling alot and need advice from others going through what I am.  I'm taking insulin and seeing doctors on a very regular basis while trying to keep up with a full time job.

A little about me, I'm a college graduate with a Bachelors in Illustration. I live near Boston MA (in case anyone else is around here too).  I'm a huge nerd and love gaming and whatever related geekery/nerd-dom.

I'm on Facebook and would love to add anyone from here :)

Hi Sinnia, welcome! I'm glad you found us. I love being able to post a questions here and get lots of help right away.

I saw you're in Lawrence. If you're not already doing it, it's really worth driving down to Joslin in Boston for endo appts. They're wonderful and they have all these different specialists that are all familiar with diabetes which is so hard to find elsewhere. They also have classes, research studies, etc.

You may want to check out the artists w/ diabetes group under the "groups" tab here too. (:

I'm new here too and looking for friends.  My situation is a little different.  I've been diabetic for 18 years and feeling frustrated.  Would love to chat sometime.

Hi Sinnia,  Congrats on getting through your first year.  I too was diagnosed as an adult, at least legally speaking, but I was in college and not even 21 yet, so I imagine my experience was somewhat different.  That was going on ten years ago.

I'm sort of new here as well.  I've never posted until yesterday, but have read from time to time since the site first started.  I wasn't looking for friends, but rather some specific information, but I think I may stick around.  People have been very helpful and it's nice to be reminded that there are lots of people out there in the same boat.

Hello Sinnia, Mrsshores and John81....welcome! This a very good place to get information and make friends. I can't believe all the young folks here who have asked to be my friends. I am 71 and have been type 1 for 65 years. That makes me the Juvenation Grandpa. LOL!

So excited to see all 3 of you on here! Juvenation is a fantastic place to come for information and support. I have made a lot of friends and truly feel Juvenation and the rest of the diabetes online community (DOC) have helped me gain better control of my diabetes! We'd love to hear more about all of you :o) Welcome and please let us know if you have questions or if we can do anything to help you. That's what we're here for :D

Yay, three new people at once!  Welcome!  I've been dealing with D for 17 years now, and joining Juvenation has really helped me air my frustrations and find support.  Looking forward to hearing more from all of you!

Welcome to all new people. This is a wonderful group of people and the advice they give is priceless. I hope that you find all the support that you are looking for, along with some wonderful friendships.

I'm from the Boston area, currently working and living in the Worcester area of MA...Sarah is completely correct - Joslin is a great place for diabetes care.  I've been with them for years now.  The only gripe i have is that it is difficult to get an appointment with an endo right away - those doctors are super busy!

Cheers to making it through your first year as a T1D.

Do you view the world around you any differently now?

Welcome to all three of you!  Glad you are all here....this is the greatest place to get all of your questions answered and get great advice!

Wow 3 new people!!!! Welcome!! Happy you 3 found us.I am also in the dx'ed as an adult group. LOL I just did a little over 2 years ago at 52. You have friends here.

Thanks, all!  (Even if I kind of hijacked someone else's welcome. haha)

Yo tambien!!! I need friends. This forum is fun, but unlike Facebook, we are meeting for the first time.

Welcome to the 3 of you !!

Hello new people! I am pretty new too and also on Facebook (www.facebook.com/cristina1180). I was just diagnosed in October of this year (at age 29) so I am still trying to figure everything out. This forum has been really helpful. Nice to know other people are going through the same things as I am.

Holy shit.  That`s all I got!
