How much insulin do you take a day?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but i think it would be interesting to hear from other Type 1's how much insulin they are taking a day...

I use Humalog, and on a 30 day average i take 45 units a day...28.35 Basil, 16.33 Bolus...

How about everyone else?

Basel 29.55 / 39%

Bolus 45.80/ 61%

75.35U

I am on Humalog too Tim I use 3 bottles of homalog in 1 mouth.

I take 18u of Lantus in the morning and 15u at night, so 33u. Novorapid ranges for me, but I'd say I take anywhere from 20-50u a day. depends on how much i eat, how many corrections i gotta do, etc.

With my pump, the combination of basal and bolus delivery is on average around 30 units of NovoRapid per day.  I also really don't eat a lot...

I am a baby for some reason.  Basal = 3.6, Bolus~7-11, so 11-15 units/day on average.

it could be due to your weight/activity level but most likely resistance level. the more fat you've got on you along with the less active you are, the more insulin you need due to resistance.

I vary from as little as 45 to as much as 100 depending on the day, the food, the mood ect....

I am on humalog on the pump.

This should be almost as good as a cure!

Tom

I gained weight in the 1990s and developed insulin resistance. My total daily dosage (TDD) increased 40%. I started taking a type 2 med in 1999, and I lost weight. My TDD returned to normal. Last month my TDD was 36 units of Humalog, in my pump. Then, this month, the doc had me stop taking the type 2 med. He thinks my weight loss will make it no longer necessary. Now my TDD is 40 units and I am gaining weight (4 pounds so far). If this continues I will need to continue the med. I hate being overweight!!!

My daughter takes 25 units of levemir each night and 19-25 units of novolog a day on average.

I use 50-55 units/day of humalog through a pump.   I'm an active 18 year old male, 6' tall 154 pounds.

until the last month or two i was taking 80-100u of novolog a day (pumper). recently, i've only been using around 45-65u a day. since i'm not working right now, i've had a lot more time to exercise and actually eat healthier, so my insulin needs have dropped. i also don't have the incredible stress i did during the internship so my insulin resistance has dropped a lot.

My daily total seems to be about 40 units a day of humalog.

usually...

basal: 20.26

bolus: between 20-30

total: 40-50

Yes Tom sometimes it is

I use Humalog too... My Basil is 18.50 and Bolus is anywhere from 2 units to 10 units. Depending on the day and if I feel like chowing down.

13.95 basal + 20.45 bolus = 34.4 units per day on average for the past 31 days

I take (for the moment) about 5-13 for each meal

and 34 units of Lantus (basal)

With me as a 13 year old For an average basic I take 45-55 units a day for humalog. And at night I take  28 units of lantus.

I average between 22.75 (today) and 28 units.  It varies on carbs of course.  Some days I am an 'bad' diabetic.
