Any high up in the 200+ can have ketones. There is not a whole lot you can do about it. I was told to drink a lot of water at that time, but I do not know if that is folklore or not. I recommend changing the site where you are giving the shots. Absorption, not resistence, may be your issue. If that does not work, you can try another insulin (check with your doctor). What insulin is she using now?
Riley changes her location with each injection left arm then right. Then she switches to her belly left then right side and repeats. She only gets like this for about a week once a month, Its highly common for kids going through puberty to show signs of insulin resistance. Once they are done with puberty most dont show signs of it anymore but many women do once a month. If it isnt during this one week period her numbers are fine and you can tell by them she goes down with her insulin and it works fine.
