Hi, my daughter is 6 years old and was recently diagnosed with T1D. We would like her to meet kids her age with T1D so that she doesn’t feel alone/different.

Check out summer camps for kids with Typw1. I went a few summers as a child and had a great time!
Ask your endo and school nurse if they would or you in touch with other families. Although HIPAA wine allow them to share others information, they should be able to share yours if you request it.
Also, this is off topic but since you’re new to diabetes I highly recommend you check out the book Think Like a Pancreas by Gary Scheiner. He has diabetes and works in the field so has a unique personal perspective that is particularly helpful.
Hi Dorie, Thanks for the tips! We’ll definitely check out the summer camps. Asking the Endocrinologist is a good idea since she certainly knows a few kids with T1D in the area.
