Lets talk Insurance coverage, Please share what brand of Insurance you have?

I currently have BC of IDAHO as a supplement to my Medicare. I was experiencing full coverage for insulin because it was used in my insulin pump. However back in July it seems someone reinterpret the Medicare coverage to only cover 80%. I am sure everyone realizes insulin used in a insulin pump is fully covered under part B. It is not medicine nor should it be billed under part D , This is clearly pointed out in MY MEDICARE.

So I have the option of changing my medical coverage when I can find an Insurance provider that follows the Medicare rules. So what insurance do you use and are you experiencing any non coverage issues???

I have Aetna all around (med, dental and vision).

With my pump supplies, I burn through the deductible and out of pocket ($3000US) by April. No copays for the rest of the year.

Oh dear, that sounds expensive. Here in Germany we are lucky. Everybody with a job has health insurance automatically, and those who don’t have a job get the insurance paid by the state.
All the insurance providers pay for almost everything.
On the other end of the spectrum there are patients in developing countries where diabetes usually means coma and death.

The (most recent?) references for Medicare insulin coverage with an insulin pump are found Insulin Coverage and (for patients (https://www.medicare.gov/media/publication/12172-medicare-insulin-costs-facts.pdf?linkit_matcher=1) or (for suppliers, including pharmacies) https://www.cms.gov/files/document/mln4443820-billing-medicare-part-b-insulin-new-limits-patient-monthly-coinsurance.pdf

I’m not on Medicare (yet, but soon to be…); it seems that insulin costs may be less under some Medicare Supplement plans with a deductible that cover 100% after the deducible is met.
