Need friends who understand

Hello my name is Jordan, I’m 18 and I was diagnosed with T1D almost a year ago. I’ve been struggling with feeling alone recently and my partner suggested that I should try to make friends with people who also have T1 that would understand what I’m going through.

Hi @fabulous_jordie Jordan welcome to TypeOneNation.

There are a lot of us here! It’s really common to feel alone or isolated, I hope you make a lot of friends here.

Hi, Jordan! I was diagnosed almost three months ago and I completely understand your frustration of needing/wanting someone who gets this rollercoaster of a lifestyle change! Please reach out if you ever need a listening ear!

Hi Jordan! I’m Abby; I’m 17 years old and I’ve had T1D since I was 7. I totally know what it’s like to feel alone with this condition! It really helps to chat with other teens who also have T1. I’ve created a few different group chats of T1 Teens and I’d love to add you to one! Feel free to pm me and we can exchange contact info.

Hi Jordan,
My name is Bella, I’m 18, and I was diagnosed about 8 months ago. I totally know what you mean about feeling alone, it’s hard to reach out to someone when you just want people you already feel close to to understand. Let me know if you ever want to talk!

I totally get it. I’m jay and just signed up for this today. I’ve been dealing with T1D for 5 years. I’ve recently been feeling extremely isolated! If ANY of you need someone to talk to you can add me on insta @jziyaperry or snap @jziy.ugh

This place has helped me tremendous. There is a lot of great people on here. Hope this helps you keep trying.

I am 48, live in Colorado and was diagnosed with Type 1 at age 9. I am looking to make contact with another person who struggles with chronic lows as I do. Anybody out there? I don’t do social media, but can make contact by phone or email. I have limited data where I live so I’m not online all the time like most, but would love to speak to someone who shares my struggles.
