New here

Hello my name is Nicole and my son was diagnosed in November this past year.  We are learning new things everyday but at the same time realized we knew nothing.

On top of that our schools had limited resources, and our family was just as clueless as we were. We have decided that the diabetes awareness in our community is unacceptable. Our community needs to be aware as individuals and as a group.

We are opening Brandyns Bouncers Camp.  It will be a youth camp for kids and Awareness for adults! We offer camp, educational classes for teachers, bus drivers, daycares, churches, parents, siblings, grandparents anyone that will be in contact with your son or daughter.  Everything was so far away from us or out of our budget we need something in our home community!

We are in the stages of getting our Non-Profit status, but we are accepting donations to get  up and running!  Please take a moment to look at our new site and feel free to join or even leave feed back. Anyone that joins our site and signs the guest book between now and Aug 15th will be put in a raffle to recieve the FIRST Brandyns Bouncers T-shirt!

our site is    http://brandynsbouncers.webs.com

Hi Nicole!  I think that your camp is a great idea!  I am the mother of a newly diagnosed teen and am struggling with the misconceptions about type 1 diabetes.  There is not a local group in my area but I am thinking about trying to start one...if only to find local support and try to educate our community.  Good Luck with the Camp!
