Over eating when low

@JPAC Hi Jim, Welcome to TypeOneNation. Hey sorry to hear about your troubles. I am sure you and your wife have been through a lot of times, maybe you can bring her in to your doctor appointments, and have the doctor explain to her what having a low (hypoglycemia) or a high can do to you. Insulin is a very powerful hormone, and after 40 years of using it, once in a while I still forget to “bite my tongue” when low.

if a doctor explains to her that you can get confused and emotional when low or high, it’ll go further then if you explain it… because the expert is always from out of town.

If you have any questions feel free to start a topic, there is a lot of experience here.
welcome to the club no one wants to be in, and I hope to hear from you.

Joe

I am reading your replies carefully, as you are describing me. Thanks for your question.

I deal with my lows by counting what I ate and subtract about a third of the carbs for my bolus. I will try your solution of counting how far I want my BG to rise, sounds logical. Most of what we do needs logic and common sense.
