Can anyone recommend a pediatric Endocrinologist in Austin, Texas? My 2 year old daughter was diagnosed last year and I’m just not feeling very supported in the small town I’m currently in. I have family in Austin so it would be an easy trip and visit. Thank you for any advice you can give!
My 13 year-old daughter was just diagnosed with T1D last week (on International Diabetes Day, of all things) and was sent to McLane’s Childrens Hospital in Temple, TX.
Her pediatric endocrinologist was diagnosed with T1D when he was 8 years old and many of his staff either have T1D themselves or have children with it. The whole hospital staff was very knowledgeable, kind and understanding while she was in the PICU. I highly recommend them if you are close enough.

Kristin @abbysmom1221, Dr. Stephen Ponder, MD has practiced pediatric endocrinology in Temple, Texas for 30+ years. I don’t know if he is currently accepting new patients but he is well worth looking into.
As a side note, Dr. Ponder has lived with his own TypeOne for about 52 years. I’ve only met him one time, and then not as his client.
