So I was chewing sunflower seeds last night, and after checking my BS before bed realized that they can raise my BS quite a bit it seems, especially the flavored ones. Has anyone else experienced this?
Huh, I've never had that happen, but I guess I've never eaten too many at once. Almonds, though... (:
Was it the flavoring that added carbs?
Did you check the packaging to see if they listed any carb content?
I've had this happen to me before! I dn't know why though. It's kind of weird!
not sure if there is any relationship, but some sunflower seeds have a lot of salt, does raising BP or adding salt increase BG? I know sunflower seeds have the "bad" fats found in plants, and fat keeps BG elevated, but I don't think that should actually raise it.
I eat sunflower seeds, almonds, peanuts all with no salt alot. They are all good for you and are a protein. I mix them in salads or just eat handfuls. Just check the label. Eat the more natural ones rather than flavored ones.
