Temptation

does anyone know a great way to fight off temptation to avoid eating a lot?

For me , it's basically about just pacing yourself. I totally understand I can go overboard when it comes to meals and eating (which has caused some weight gain ) and I find if I finish the portion of whatever I'm eating and then wait twenty minutes, the feeling of hunger has completely dissapaited. Drink lots of water too !
