I was diagnosed with T1D in 1970. I used syringes from 1970 to 2006.
I used a Medtronic insulin pump from 2007-2016. Then because I wasn’t satisfied anymore with it’s performance, I switched to Insulet’s Omnipod insulin pump. I used that for 3 years until I got tired of the hassles of it not working well anymore.
So out of frustration, I told my doctor I couldn’t continue using it and I asked what else is out there that is closed loop because I didn’t want to go back to Medtronic. Now I use the Dexcom G6 with the Tandem T-slim X2 pump.
I absolutely love it. It keeps me covered from lows and soon
with the upgrade coming, it will handle my highs as well so it
will be a true closed loop system.
This is really the first time since 2007 that I feel I am managing my T1D
the best I have ever been able to. It has changed my hope for the future
for all those who get diagnosed with T1D. What a great time to be alive with T1D. My A1C’s are great and I only prick my finger once per day now!
This is a combo to seriously consider checking out. It is awesome!!!
The combo again, is the Dexcom G6 with the Tandem T-slim X2 pump.
