So, it's been very hard, but I've finally reached my goal and lost 27 lbs as of yesterday, and am back to 125 lbs!!! (25 lbs I had gained from a prescription medication, and those last 5 lbs left over from my pregnancy) Also, since exercising and eating healthier, my eye doctor said my vision had actually improved at my annual exam, and I've lowered my basal insulin from 12 units a day to 8 a day.
As many of us have found, it's so hard to loose weight w/ T1, so things have been slow -- I lost more like a 1/2 to 3/4 lbs a week rather than 1-2 a week. I've been exercising for 30 min each day, but I think it was more keeping my calories down that did it. Which is why it was hard -- sometimes I go through periods where I'm just low all the time no matter what I do, so I'd end up eating 300 calories of jelly beans a few of those days, lol.
Anyways, I'm proud of myself and thought I'd brag. Sadly, things have "shifted" a bit (post pregnancy? age?), so I don't look like when I was in my 20's, but at least I can fit into some of my old jeans. Now, I have to try to get through the upcoming holidays, lol, so feel free to send me "reminders"!
P.S. I used www.sparkpeople.com to track exercise and calories if anyone wants to try it.
