Also, are there certain foods that don't effect your blood sugar that much? I know as a kid I had McDonalds ice cream once and it wasn't even good. But it gave me a pretty quick high blood sugar. I don't think I've had anything from McDonalds in over 20 years! As far as foods that don't require a lot of insulin, I find that steak particularly (without any seasoning besides salt and pepper), green peppers, and onions don't effect me too much. And it can't just be their little to no carbohydrate value, some low carb foods that don't have sugar like coffee (with a tablespoon of cream) and cauliflower raise my blood sugar quite a lot. Anyone else find that? Just wondering!
