Summer Camp for Type1 Kids

There was an article in this morning’s Washington Post about the scramble to register kids for summer camp. If you are considering sending your child to “diabetes camp” it’s not too soon to start planning!

I have not found a comprehensive 2024 list on JDRF’s website - hopefully one will be posted soon.

Diabetes camps dot org has a search tool to use but I’m not familiar with that site so it’s not linked here.

I highly recommend Tennessee Camp For Diabetic Children in Soddy Daisy, TN. It was a life changing experience for us and my son is planning to return as a counselor after this Summer because he “graduates” this year, meaning he will be too old to attend as a camper. I believe they also offer financial assistance for those who cannot afford the cost.
